Satsanga, Satsangam, Satsang (sat = true, sanga = company) in Yogic philosophy means the company of the "highest truth", the company of a guru, or company with an assembly of persons who listen to, talk about and assimilate the truth. The truth here

indicates that we are not the body and thoughts but pure consciousness or divinity, full of bliss,

knowledge and eternal and always free. This typically involves listening to lectures or reading scriptures, discussing and assimilating their meaning, meditating on the source of these words and bringing their meaning into one’s daily life.

The idea of satsang was first spread by ancient Rishis like Vedavyasa and Valmiki who explained the truth to their disciples with examples there by uplifting the soul to realize the eternal bliss/ santhosham/ parabrahmam or paramaanandam.
